Aaron Rodgerswas injured during his first game with the Jets.

After the game, which the Jets won 22-16 in overtime, coach Robert Saleh told the reporters it was “not good” for Rodgers, perESPN. He may have torn his Achilles tendon, and will have an MRI Tuesday, which the team fears will confirm the tear, according to the outlet.

The official Instagram accounts for the Jets andNFLshared a videoof Rodgers arriving at MetLife Stadium ahead of the team’s first game of the 2023 season, captioning the post, “Good evening, @aaronrodgers12.”

After playing 14 seasons with the Green Bay Packers andpreviously expressing his desire to play for New York Jets, Rodgerswas tradedto the East Rutherford-based team in late April, Packers General Manager Brian Gutekunst confirmed at the time.

In late July, the NFL staragreed to a two-year, $75 million guaranteed contractwith the Jets that runs through the 2024 season. ThoughESPNreported that his deal would be $35 million less than he would’ve made had he finished out his 4-year deal with the Packers, Rodgers explained why he signed the restructured contract.

“The team gave up significant pieces for it to be just a one-year deal,” he told ESPN. “I’m aware of that. Anything could happen with my body or the success we have this year, but I’m having a blast, so I really don’t see this as a one-year-and-done thing.”

“We’ve all turned the page. It’s a new chapter,” he said. “I think it’s going to be exciting for Green Bay, moving on. It’s definitely been really fun for me out here.”

PerNFL Network, Rodger’s contract is a five-year deal through 2027, with two option years to “minimize the cap impact of the $35 million roster bonus” he received a week later.
