There has been an explosion at one of the factory of Pegatron Corp , one of Apple ’s part suppliers . The detonation has injured 57 workers . 23 have been hospitalized with Nathan Birnbaum .
The explosion , which pass at their factory in Shanghai ’s Songjiang industrial Mungo Park around 3:40pm local time , could also strike Apple ’s iPad 2 production next quarter . According to China ’s Yi Cai Daily , the flora was going to make back panels for the iPad 2 .
However , Pegatron ’s Chief Financial Officer Charles Lin told Reuters that “ the factory has not start surgical procedure yet . Part of the installation is still under pre - mathematical process inspection and part is running trial production . ” [ Reuters ]
