Today at the Marvel panel at San Diego Comic - Con , we saw Ultron in action . And we fit our new Thanos , Josh Brolin ! And we witnessed the downfall of the Avengers in Age of Ultron . Plus new Ant - Man footage … and a Guardians of the Galaxy 2 spill date .
The panel started with a recap of all the late Marvel movies , include someGuardians of the Galaxy clips that reason out with a barb of Thanos sit on his commode , floating in space . And smile … sinisterly .
compare to last yr ’s panel , this was little on announcements ( no Black Panther , Black Widow , Captain Marvel or Doctor Strange movie declaration . ) But the Ant - Man coup d’oeil was precious , and the Avengers 2 footage was somewhat harebrained . So here ’s what we encounter …

Cut to a tiny Scott Lang in the Ant - Man suit , running forth after completing the “ small job ” — his Ant - Man helmet is on the fritz , and he keeps losing his connection to Hank Pym , who ’s barking program line .
He ’s guess to use the helmet to see “ the transport ” — which turns out to be a small flying ant . He tries to convince the flying ant to help him out , but the ant is n’t listen . And then some fly light show up , chase him — so Scott has no pick but to parachute off the building onto the flying ant , which he does n’t have a very static grip on . He ’s trying to reach a tryst with Hank , but first he has to survive .
New director Peyton Reed is eager to prove he ’s up to the job , sharing that it ’s his 20th Comic - Con in a row . Plus back in the day , Reed was in a punk banding called Johnny Quest and once drew the isthmus as the Avengers on a flier , and draw himself as Ant - Man . He show us that flier .
And Michael Douglas kind of explains the plot of land of Ant - Man for us : “ This is fundamentally the story of a heist . [ Hank ’s ] partner has taken the company in a unlike evil charge , and I have found a [ mentee ] in Paul [ Rudd ] to take over my position as Ant - Man . The only problem is Paul is in such incredible shape , such great shape that the Ant - Man suit did n’t set . ”
Also , it ’s confirmed that Evangeline Lilly is playing Hank Pym ’s daughter Hope , and Corey Stoll is the malign ex - partner Darren Cross , who gets his own shrinkage suit and becomes the Yellowjacket — the film ’s baddie .
We saw a ton ofAvengers : Age of Ultron footage , which start out light - hearted . We see the Avengers sitting around strain to untangle the “ whosoever is desirable ” thing , regarding who gets to hold Thor ’s malleus . And they all call back it ’s a conjuration , or a circus sideshow .
“ If I hook it , do I get to rule Asgard ? ” Tony asks . And Thor says yes . Then a dirt ton of robots collapse through the wall and attack all of the Avengers , plus Maria Hill .
Then we try Ultron ’s voiceover saying he had a vision of the whole humankind screaming for mercifulness , and everybody snarl in it .
And we see glimpse of some city in what await like Africa being reduced to rubble by an attack . There ’s a closeup of Loki ’s staff , and everybody looking freak out out on the Quinjet — most of all Bruce Banner , who is holding himself and stir with a terrified feel on his look . the great unwashed are running everywhere , and the debris is vanish like crazy .
Ultron gives a menacing look , as he surveys all the end .
Then there are some hoagy moments : Captain America enters a place shooting some guns . clobber is blowing up . Banner stumble to his knee in a snowy wood , looking sickly . Thor utilise his pound to bang up a tank car . Black Widow is in a medical alcove , accomplish for some operative dick . We glimpse Nick Fury take care the way he did at the end ofWinter Soldier . And Scarlet Witch is on a bus , approaching some multitude at the back of the bus with magic in one hired hand .
Tony Stark is looking forlorn and guilty . “ It ’s the end , the end of a path I begin us on , ” he tells Black Widow , who order everything terminate .
Scarlet hag sinks to her knees shout out . And there are more shots of Scarlet Witch using her office , just prompt glimpses of her image magical vigour .
At this point , the trailer strts playing the clasic song “ I ’ve Got No Strings . ”
Tony , in Hulbuster armour , confront Hulk on a metropolis street , and there are several shot of them brawling and Tony fix the shit circumvent out of him . Quicksilver run for through a crowded room that seems to be standing still . Captain America is fight someone in what looks like a knock - down brawl .
And because this is Joss Whedon , there ’s a glance of girls doing ballet .
Then we ’re back to Black Widow shooting scattergun , and more of the Hulk / Hulkbuster brawl . Thor grabs Tony Stark ’s throat and lift him off the basis . Captain America is riding a motorcycle and then running . Cars are tumble in mid air . Black Widow concern her hand to the Hulk ’s massive green hand , like she ’s calm down him down . We glimpse a confrontation between Black Widow and Scarlet Witch .
And then Ultron finishes the song saying , “ There are no string on me , ” clench a clenched fist as he celebrates that he ’s no longer a puppet .
And we go a injection of Captain America ’s shield — shatter to fragment . We draw back , and all of the Avengers are lie prone , obviously utter , in the rubble . Tony is leaning over them , and he look totlaly horror-stricken and ashamed .

To the audio of Michael Jackson ’s “ Do n’t Stop Til You Get Enough , ” Robert Downey Jr. danced out on stage and opened his briefcase to shake off roses at the gang . Downey Jr. says the second Avengers will be fun — but luckily , he ’s a little less crucial every time , which is skilful for him .
When asked what he ’d like to see Thor do next , Chris Hemsworth say “ turn him into a woman . ” It would be a large transformation “ but I ’d be unforced to do it . ” He jokes that this would be his Oscar - win role .

And they consider whether they could announce thatGuardians of the Galaxy 2 already has a sacking escort of July 18 , 2017 , before determine they do n’t have the balls . Heh .
So there you have it — the first Guardians is n’t even out yet , but Marvel is obviously feel pretty positive .
