Well before the winner for Best Actress was announced at Sunday’s2024 Oscars, three of the categories’ nominees shared a special moment.
Poor ThingsstarEmma Stone, 35,NyadleadAnnette Bening, 65, andKillers of the Flower MoonactressLily Gladstone, 37, shared an emotional embrace during a commercial break at the 96th Academy Awards.

Though not part of the hug, the two other Best Actress nominees —Sandra Hüller, 45, (Anatomy of a Fall) andCarey Mulligan, 38, (Maestro) — were also in attendance at the ceremony.
Later in the show, Stone claimed victory for Best Actress.
The award season has created a unique bond among the Best Actress nominees, particularly Stone and Gladstone. InVanity Fair’s 2024 Hollywood Issue, theKillers of the Flower Moonactress revealed thatshe and Stone have became “fast friends”— and even have matching friendship rings, which they dubbed their “Infinity Stones.”
“Then she sent me a picture of her wearing the same one,” Gladstone said. “That’s our thing. We call each other Infinity Stones.”

Gladstone also told theWashington Post, “I’m getting all these sweet texts from her. Or we’re needing to vent about stuff. It’s a very sweet friendship.”
