The2019 Golden Globenominations are in and the stars are celebrating the happy news!
There was plenty of glitz and glamour, asLady Gaga, Julia Roberts, Emma Stone, Rachel Weisz, Glenn Close and Emily Blunt all grabbed nominations. But the list also featured plenty of newcomers, likeEighth Grade‘s Elsie Fisher andBlackKklansman‘s John David Washington. And even the biggest movie of the yearBlack Panthergot a nomination!
Overall, Viceleads the movie nominations with six nods, with Christian Bale and Amy Adams both getting individual nods for their performance as Vice President Dick Cheney and his wife Lynne.
15-year-old Fisher had one of the best reactions to the news, with a simple one-word tweet explaining everything she felt after hearing the news.
“I’m luckier than you — I’m laying in bed!” Close told theTodayshow crew. “I didn’t even know I was happening. I’m doing a show at the Public and I came home [last night]. I was surprised — I thought it was a butt call this morning.”

Bradley Cooper, who received two nods forA Star Is Born— for best director and best actor (drama) — said in a statement, “I am very gratefulA Star is Bornhas touched so many people and to the Hollywood foreign press for recognizing our film with such abundance. I’ve wanted to tell stories through film for as long as I can remember and I feel lucky even to have had the opportunity to do that – to be included in a community of such inspiring artists is incredibly humbling. A huge congrats to all of this morning’s nominees and especially to my dear friend, Lady Gaga.”

Spike Lee, a best director nominee forBlackKklansman, had one word to sum up his nomination.
“I found out about these Golden Globe Nominations forBlackKklansmanin between advising my NYU Grad School students because I teach on Thursdays,” he said in his statement. “The first word that came to mind was ‘BOOM SHAKALAKA.’ Thank you to the HFPA!”
The 76th Golden Globe Awards will air live from The Beverly Hilton Hotel on Sunday, Jan. 6 on NBC.
