As we get closer and closer to the arrival ofX - Men ‘ 97 , the rallying cry of “ To me , my decade - Men product ! ” just gets louder and louder . Earlier this workweek we saw Lego get in on the X - cacoethes witha newfangled set , but nowit ’s Hasbro ’s turnwith its modish wave inspired by the cartoon serial .
There ’s wad of X - man this time around with Jean Grey , Cyclops , and Nightcrawler all get human body in wave two , but the real highlight are the villains filling out the other half of the wave . Magneto — having come along in wave one with his classic helmeted look — this time get a novel figure based on his update costume from cristal - Men ‘ 97 , itself free-base on the iconic “ M ” tribulation turnout from Uncanny X - Men # 200 , but the two sincerely newfangled additions to the wave are surprising and lovely .
First up is the Goblin Queen herself , aka Madelyne Pryor — the former married woman of Scott Summers , revealed to be a clon of Jean Grey incubate by the villainous plans of Mister Sinister , and eventual grim kept woman of Limbo as the fervent Goblin Queen . She even come with a baby Nate Summers , aka the future Cable , because it would n’t be the star of “ Inferno ” without at least one child to threat ! Maddie and Magneto are unite by Carl Denti , the uber-‘90s X - Cutioner ( weirdly enough not to be confused with the 1992 floor discharge “ X - Cutioner ’s Song , ” in which he does not appear ) , a former FBI agent who becomes a zealous assassin in a pursuance to persecute Mutants who have in turn murdered human race . It ’s a grand touch of the classic 10 - Men storylines the young animated serial publication will take on — eviscerate on not just iconic stories from the elevation of Chris Claremont ’s run on X - man in the ‘ eighty , but of course some ‘ ninety account that the old animated series did n’t have the distance to take on , too .
