If you ’ve watched The LEGO Movie , you were probably too in use express mirth / reminisce to actually think about the work that went into production . That ’s a shame , because as this behind - the - scenes clip shows , it takes a lot of effort to make little plastic men talk .
The moving picture is made partly with stop - movement animation , using literal bricks , and partly with CGI . But as the video appearance , even the CGI stays true to the underlying rule — everything , even the water , the showers , or the goddamned explosions — is made out of LEGO . From the looks of things , animators had access to the intact LEGO brick library , which they used to construct up individual objects and scene .
It ’s also fun to see the level of enthusiasm running through the full output squad , from animators to directors . If you did n’t do it good , you ’d gauge this movie was a puerility - inspired labor of love . [ YouTubeviaThe Awesomer ]
