Jana Kramerand her husbandMike Caussinare shooting back at critics questioning the way they’ve chosen to sleep train their 8-week-old son,Jace Joseph.
Trouble began when Kramer, 35,posted a photo of Jace, celebrating the fact that he’s been sleeping seven hours a night.
Reading those responses bothered her. “All right, trolls. I’m talking to you guys,” Kramer said on her Instagram Story, turning to Caussin. “Do we let Jace scream and cry and not feed him?”
“Oh, ’cause you guys live here and know that we let him scream and cry?” the former NFL player, 31, shot back. “We don’t let him scream and cry!”
Kramer agreed. “We do not let him scream and cry. I don’t even technically know with babies this agethat you’re allowed to let them self-soothe,” she said. “When he cries, we feed him, okay? And if it’s not time for him to eat yet, we give him awubbie.”

This isn’t the first time Kramer has addressed critics since giving birth to her son. Earlier this month, the country singer andOne Tree Hillalum discussed her choice to not breastfeed — and thereactions she has received because of it— on an episode of herWhine Down with Jana Kramerpodcast.
“It’s just frustrating whenwomen [are told] breast milk is the best,” Kramer said. “I understand that — [they] don’t need to tell me something that I [already] know. But I also don’t need to explain to [them]why it’s either not workingor we’re not doing it or we chose not to. I don’t know why we feel like we have to explain.”
“I feel like I have to hide the bottle when I’m in publicbecause people are judgingme. I feel judged,” added the “I Got the Boy” singer, revealing that she was not breastfed as a child.

Caussin supported his wife. “I actually don’t even think we should or need to [explain] because then it’s like you feel like you have to defend why we’re not,” he said. “We’re the only two people that matter in this entire situation.”
In June, Kramer opened up to PEOPLE about how the couple endured three miscarriages and two chemical pregnancies before conceiving naturally following a failed IVF cycle and subsequent loss that February.
“Being a mom has changed me in so many ways. I had zero patience before kids,” she said. “I love singing, I love acting, I lovedoing my podcastand creating things, but being a mom is what truly fulfills me. It is the best part of my day, even though it’s the most stressful.”
