2016 Marie Callender’s Holiday

The gift at the top ofJennie Garth’s wish list isn’t quite as glamorous as one might suspect.

“A new vacuum,” the90210alum tells PEOPLE of what she’s hoping to unwrap this Christmas. “It’s really exciting.”

Garth is all about comfort for the holidays, with her plans for celebrating the season including “quiet and cozy” time with her kids and husband,Dave Abrams, 35, at home, hopefully enjoying her favorite Christmas movie (see what it is on@peoplehome’s Instagram story!).

“Traveling for the holidays is not my thing, I think it’s too much work,” she says.

Instead, the 44-year-old mom of three prefers to play hostess because, “that feels the most comfortable and most familiar.” And the gifting tradition she shares with daughters Luca, 19, Lola, 14, and Fiona, 10, is sweet to say the least.

“We bake and make candy and everybody’s involved,” Garth says. “We like to give gifts that are homemade like that.”

“I love style and design and home renovation,” she says of what inspired her to take on the project, all proceeds of which are donated to Habitat for Humanity NYC. “Having the opportunity to do the dining room is kind of like the best of both worlds.”

Garth’s dining room comes complete with pretty metallic details, elaborate centerpieces and bursts of purple, but there is one thing that’s notably missing from the space: her favorite holiday decoration.

“Tinsel,” she says. “It’s so tacky, yet so beautiful.”
