Kate Chastaindoesn’t have any plans to be a mom of two.
TheBelow Deckalum andCouch Talk with Captain Lee and Katehost opened up to PEOPLE about motherhood while walking the red carpet atBravoCon 2023, revealing that she’s “not sure a second child is in the future.”
“I’m one and done,” says Chastain, 40, who announced that she welcomed her first child — sonSullivan Cay— back in May.
“Oh, I’m in big trouble with Sullivan,” she says. “He’s got a lot of personality and I’m pretty sure he takes after me in the personality department — which, if that’s the case… Karma is coming for me!”
“But I love Sullivan so much,” she adds. “He’s doing great. He’s back in Florida. Safe, healthy, and happy!”

And while Sullivan won’t be getting a sibling anytime soon, he does have a four-legged “brother” in Chastain’s longtime dog, Halo. “He has finally come around to Sullivan,” Chastain says. “Halo has gone through all the stages of grief: denial, anger, bargaining, depression, acceptance — we’re there! We’ve finally made it to the last stage! And we’re good now.”
Chastain has been sharing plenty of happy mom moments with Sullivan on social media. She just marked her first Halloween with her little one, dressing him up in a multi-colored bird onesie fitted out with wings, a hood and a beak.
“100 percent showing these photos to his first date when he’s a teenager,” she wrote on Instagram Story, below a short video filmed as her son’s face broke out in a smile.
She addedNelly Furtado’s 2000 hit “I’m Like A Bird” as a background song to the post, too.
“It dropped below 90 degrees today so obviously we’re out celebrating the start of Fall 🍂🍁,” she captioned the post.

PEOPLE reported news of Chastain’s pregnancy exclusivelyin December 2022, where she discussed her desire to have a child of her own. “I am absolutely thrilled to become a mother,” the reality star said at the time. “It’s something I’ve always hoped for, so this is truly a dream come true!”
Later, while appearing on theWatch What Happens Liveafter show, Chastain — who has not publicly revealed the identity of her son’s father — said she wasplanning to raise Sullivan on her own.
“I’m doing it solo and perhaps with some help, but I’m happy to do it alone,” she said, adding that she “always wanted a kid…but I wasn’t sure if it was going to happen for me, so I just feel so lucky."
BravoCon 2023 is taking place through Sunday at Caesars Forum in Las Vegas.
