Valerie Bertinelli Shares Video of Pilates Workout, Says Exercise Can ‘Soothe Your Soul’

Valerie Bertinelliis staying committed to her fitness routine.

On Thursday,  the Food Network star posted a video on Instagram showing off her Pilates workout. In the clip, the 63-year-old visited a Los Angeles studio and included a timelapse clip of her stretching on a pilates reformer.

“No matter how hard it is to get there, I always feel so much better about myself once I’m done,” she said after finishing the class, thanking her pilates instructor. “Thank you, Grace!”

“Exercise is not just for your body. It can also soothe your soul. 🤍💪🏼” she captioned the post.

Bertinelli has recently embarked on a renewed commitment to her health, and has been sharing the results with her followers.

Last year, she posted aTikTokvideo celebrating her first treadmill workout in years, acknowledging that she had been in better shape in the past but was excited to get back into it.

“So just 12 years ago, I did a marathon. But you know what? You gotta start somewhere, I’m not embarrassed,” Bertinelli said at the time while showing herself walking at a steady pace. “Today is the first day of the rest of my life.”

“Day 1 😈,” she added in the caption.

Bertinelliran the Boston Marathonin 2010, just four days before her 50th birthday. At the time, she told PEOPLE that she felt mentally and physically amazing after training intensely for the event. “I am so high right now, more high than if I’d had a bottle of champagne!” she said just after running the 26.2-mile race, her first marathon, in 5:14:37. “I feel euphoric!”

Over the years, Bertinelli has been open about having a tricky relationship with her weight and health. Most recently, she’s made several posts on social media embracing her body and enjoying her wellness journey.

In October, theHot in Clevelandstar said she felt beautiful afterfinding her old “fat clothes"in the back of her closet. She posted a video onInstagramafter finding the outfit she wore in her very first “before photo” as a Jenny Craig spokesperson.

“I thought I was fat the last time I wore these clothes,” she said. “I’ve never felt more beautiful, more at peace, more mentally and emotionally stable than I do today and I’m wearing my ‘fat clothes.’ That’s f—ed up.”

Bertinelli added in the caption that she found the old clothes in the back of her closet and although she doesn’t know why she kept them, she’s glad she did.

“I continue to work on not suppressing or numbing my feelings with food or alcohol and here I am. I am enough,” she wrote. “Our bodies do not define who we are as human being’s. A number on the scale does not define how much love your heart can hold. 🩷Please love yourself, every single part of you. YOU ARE ENOUGH 🤍✌🏻”
